In 2008 the Australian Government committed to closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians in six key areas, including employment participation. The Australian Government aimed to halve the gap in Indigenous employment participation by 2018. Transco Power is fully committed to assisting the Government in achieving this target.
Transco Power will partner with A.R.T Employment, an Aboriginal owned and managed company, which was established in 2011 to develop and implement innovative training and employment models of national significance.
This relationship reflects Transco Power’s commitment to the communities in which it operates and its objective of providing sustainable jobs for all Australians.
A.R.T. Employment delivers the following services:
- Building the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Organising, developing or providing training in work familiarisation
- Providing support services to increase recruitment and retention rates
- Increasing employment outcomes through workforce development
